Department Definition:

The Student Wellbeing Department is responsible for comprehensively enhancing students' wellbeing through the implementation of academic, career, psychological, and social counseling programs across all educational stages. The department also promotes physical health and fitness, organizes skills-based and cultural activities, as well as local and international camps and competitions.

Among its key responsibilities are safeguarding students from psychological and physical harm, overseeing the inclusion and integration of People of Determination, and providing early identification and enrichment programs for gifted and talented students.

The Inclusive Education Services and People of Determination Care Section is responsible for the overall oversight, quality assurance, and continuous development of services provided to students with special educational needs in public schools. The section focuses on implementing inclusive education programs and determining appropriate academic pathways and graduation requirements for People of Determination.

The section also manages People of Determination Service Centers and conducts awareness campaigns targeting families and the wider community. In addition, it carries out periodic evaluations and continuous follow-up with all relevant stakeholders, providing recommendations for improvement to ensure an inclusive, supportive, and empowering educational environment.

Main Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Translate spoken language into sign language and vice versa during meetings, events, and various activities.
• Prepare translation materials effectively prior to assignments.
• Maintain continuous communication with the deaf community and stay updated with modern sign language terminology.
• Translate discussions and inquiries accurately without omission or addition.
• Translate written materials to support access to information for deaf individuals.
• Participate in training community members to learn sign language.
• Adhere to the professional ethics of sign language interpretation.
• Work collaboratively with specialists to support the inclusion of deaf individuals within society.

• Master’s degree in special education with 1 year of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in special education with 4 years of experience.
• Diploma in Special Education with 12 years of experience.
• Professional proficiency in sign language.
• A valid Sign Language Interpreter License accredited and issued by a recognized official authority in the United Arab Emirates.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work with diverse community groups.
• Accurate interpretation and translation skills.
• Knowledge of deaf culture and community needs.
