Since investing in human capital is the main objective, the UAE has been keen on establishing the Ministry of Education and creating the appropriate environment to build pioneering Emirati schools, in terms of standards, form, and content they provide. It also made sure that such schools provided high-quality educational environment and owned the most technically advanced tools to be able to graduate generations that could pursue their university education confidently in higher education institutions to fulfil the requirements of labour market. The MOE has also provided a smart learning system and high-quality digital platforms, side by side with the continuous development of school curriculums, according to national learning standards, assessment policy that is based on assessing for learning, and highest quality standards that match the best international practices. Various learning tracks, moreover, have been provided to support the capabilities and skills of students and achieve the country's strategy of encouraging the culture of creativity and innovation through providing the students with the skills of the 21st century and motivating them to have new ideas that relate to the reality they live in and foresee the future. This will eventually help in finding radical, sustainable solutions to the major issues, improving competitiveness, and supporting smart government in its attempts to keep pace with global advancements, advance education, and push it to broad horizons of excellence, leadership, and competitiveness. |
Department Definition:
The department is a supervisory and operational entity responsible for managing and monitoring the performance of public schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi within a defined geographical area. It focuses on ensuring the quality of education and services provided, as well as enhancing the overall school experience for students, parents, and educational staff.
The department is also responsible for planning school needs, overseeing the implementation of operational and development plans, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. In addition, it supports evaluation processes and continuous improvement efforts.
Furthermore, it works on coordinating efforts among relevant stakeholders, analyzing data, measuring performance, and implementing educational initiatives that contribute to improving the efficiency of the school system and achieving outstanding educational outcomes.
Main Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct periodic field visits to schools within the designated geographical area to monitor students’ academic progress.
- Analyze student performance data (exams, assessments, and performance indicators) and identify academic achievement gaps.
- Provide technical and advisory support to school leaders and teachers to improve teaching strategies and enhance student achievement levels.
- Follow up on the implementation of academic improvement plans in schools and ensure that objectives are achieved within the set timelines.
- Support schools in developing remedial plans for underperforming students and enrichment programs for high-achieving students.
- Identify academic challenges within classrooms (teaching methods, classroom management, use of resources) and propose appropriate solutions.
- Participate in the evaluation of schools’ academic performance in coordination with assessment and inspection teams.
- Prepare regular field reports including analysis of academic performance, recommendations, and proposed improvement plans.
- Monitor schools’ compliance with academic policies and approved assessment frameworks and guidelines.
- Support the implementation of educational initiatives and development programs within schools and measure their impact on learning outcomes.
- Coordinate with relevant departments (school improvement, training, curriculum) to provide necessary support based on schools’ needs.
- Monitor student progress at both school and cluster levels and report performance indicators to senior management.
- Promote the sharing of best educational practices among schools and enhance knowledge exchange among educational staff.
- Carry out any other duties related to fieldwork and academic performance support.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
