Department Definition

Providing comprehensive educational services to students with disabilities and learning difficulties in special classrooms, through the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the school’s special education team. These programs are tailored to meet the needs of students with special needs or learning difficulties, in accordance with the educational policies, regulations, and procedures followed by the institution, ensuring an appropriate and inclusive learning environment.

Main Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Providing the necessary educational support to students with disabilities and learning difficulties according to their individual needs, under the supervision of the classroom teacher and in alignment with educational and instructional standards.
• Assisting the subject teacher or special education teacher in optimizing their time to focus on core teaching responsibilities within the classroom.
• Make appropriate modifications and accommodations to the curriculum based on the nature and degree of disability of students in the special education classroom.

Skills - Qualifications & Experience 

Requirements for Expatriates: 

Bachelor’s degree in:
Special Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Psychological Counselling, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Classroom Assistant, Teacher Assistant

Diploma in:
Special Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Psychological Counselling, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Classroom Assistant, Teacher Assistant

Age must not exceed 40 years

Proficiency in both Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking)

Computer literacy and ability to use related applications

Passing the assessments and interview prepared by the Ministry

University GPA 2.0 or above

Requirements for Emirati Nationals:

Diploma in:
Special Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Psychological Counselling, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Classroom Assistant, Teacher Assistant

Age must not exceed 40 years

Proficiency in both Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking)

Computer literacy and ability to use related applications

Passing the assessments and interview prepared by the Ministry

University GPA 2.0 or above

No work experience required
