The MOE has also provided a smart learning system and high-quality digital platforms, side by side with the continuous development of school curriculums, according to national learning standards, assessment policy that is based on assessing for learning, and highest quality standards that match the best international practices. Department Definition:

The Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Section is responsible for ensuring that schools provide a safe, healthy, and compliant learning environment. The section focuses on conducting regular and ad hoc inspections to identify potential risks, assess compliance with safety and environmental standards, and produce clear, actionable reports. It also follows up on corrective actions to ensure timely resolution of identified issues. In addition, the EHS Section promotes a strong safety culture across schools and supports their preparedness to respond effectively to emergencies, safeguarding students and staff while ensuring continuity of operations.

Main Job Duties & Responsibilities:

·       Conduct routine and unannounced inspections of school facilities to ensure compliance with approved Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.

·        Identify potential risks within school buildings and facilities, and prepare detailed reports with clear, practical recommendations.

·         Prepare and submit periodic inspection reports to the relevant authority, including tracking of required corrective actions.

·         Follow up on the implementation of corrective action plans arising from inspection findings.

·         Verify compliance with safety requirements in laboratories, storage areas, and other school facilities.

·         Ensure the availability, accessibility, and operational readiness of safety equipment, firefighting systems, and emergency exits.

·         Support incident investigations and contribute to the preparation of related reports.

·         Monitor compliance with safe handling and disposal procedures for hazardous and chemical materials in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

·         Produce regular reports on EHS compliance levels across schools.

·         Document observations and non-compliance cases and track their closure through approved systems.

·         Coordinate with school leadership and relevant entities to promote a strong safety culture and adherence to preventive measures.

·         Contribute to the development and enhancement of inspection checklists, reporting templates, and safety performance indicators.

Skills Description

Skills - Qualification & Experience:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in EHS are highly desirable.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in EHS inspections, preferably within schools, public-sector facilities, or large-scale environments.
  • Proven experience in preparing inspection reports and following up on corrective actions and compliance requirements.

Core Competencies

  • Solid understanding of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to conduct site inspections, assess risks, and evaluate compliance levels effectively.
  • Strong technical reporting and documentation skills.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with multiple stakeholders.
